Given the less than stellar reception to artwork done entirely with Microsoft Paint at Vancouver Comics and Stories (seriously, I sold, like one t-shirt and a few calendars and that didn't even pay for my table admission), I have changed over to hand-drawn and computer aided strips. I also decided to make the strips a little more accessible. If you remember the minor controversy with last year's strip, not everybody really got it. Sadly, given my full time working schedule and other commitments, drawing weekly strips has not been an easy task. I do have plans for another one at the end of the month, however.

So, on a more somber note...

MSP #18: Early Prevention is the Key

On a more serious note, Vince sez: remember to get checked if you're over the age of 45 and have a family predisposition towards prostate cancer.

I can't shake the feeling that I'm probably going to have to explain this one.

MSP #15: He's Magically Delicious

This is the third installment of Major Studio Production which is drawn by hand. When I'm not drawing with Microsoft Paint, I much prefer the look of straight pencil artwork, as it can be a lot more expressive, especially with the subtle tones and shades you can get out of a pencil. Sadly, it doesn't come out that well when scanned into a computer, and must be processed to get the proper look.

In this case, I scanned in Photoshop and boosted the contrast. But, because I was reducing the size from 8"x11" @ 300DPI down to screen resolution, I had to thicken up the lines, which seriously reduces the detail.
