MSP #8: Car and Driver

After a two week absence, the strip returns. FYI, The Other Press finally did get around to printing my Remembrance Day themed strip, although a week later, and accompanying a letter-to-the-editor on why it didn't get printed during Remembrance Day.

Gutterfly Comix to Comic Genesis

First, some bozo hacks into Gutterfly Comix, and then the site owners decide to quit altogether. So, as a consequence, I did find a new home at ComicGenesis.com. However, I'm still waiting for them to e-mail me my new password and login ID. I sure as hell hope that I don't have to fill in another form because it took me about fifteen minutes to figure out what they meant by a country code. What's next, a thumb print and a DNA sample?

Oh, wait...

The medium and the message

As good art typically does not require explanation, sadly, the Rememberance Day themed strip did not qualify. At least, for the intended audience. After having a conversation with my editor, the decision was made to not run in its current form, as it was determined that the depiction of iconic war images (bombing of Hiroshima, napalming of Trang Bang, the prisoner abuse at Abu Gharib Prison) was trivializing when rendered in Microsoft Paint.

Therefore, for the second time in a row, the printed version of the strip will not be rendered using Microsoft Paint, pending final approval.
